Besides video games, Nintendo of America is the majority owner of the Seattle Mariners Major League Basketball League. The name Nintendo can be roughly translated from Japanese to English as 'leave luck to heaven'. On October 18, 2010, Nintendo sold over 565 million hardware units and 3.4 billion software units and it still successfully continuing today. The release of the new Nintendo 3DS is also proving highly successful as it is causing a rave in the public. It has real 3D graphics without needing 3D glasses.
